Michael And The Slipper Tree (littéralement "Michel et l'arbre à pantoufles") est un titre des Equals , un groupe également connu pour

Baby Come Back et I Get So Excited . En Nouvelle-Zélande, cette chanson fut le plus gros succès du groupe Simple Image , en 1969. Michael And The Slipper Tree a aussi été adapté en français par le groupe France/Angleterre .
Avant d'interpréter ce titre en concert, Les Calamités annonçaient : "Et maintenant une chanson en hommage à notre batteur, Michael ". Pourtant le dit Michael ne chaussait pas des charentaises pour jouer de la grosse caisse et de la charleston... En revanche il était bel et bien anglais, ce qui nous ramène à ce pan britannique du rock, dont les Calamités ont su s'inspirer tout autant que des classiques d'outre-Atlantique et de leurs contemporains du rock garage et alternatif français.
