Le garçon de New York is the French adaptation by the Calamités of Boy From New York City which they recorded on the same EP.
The interpretation and arrangements are identical in both versions. It seems that the original plan was to release two different singles: one in France and one in Engand. The latter was never to be produced and the English version eventually appeared on a New Rose yearly compilation.
The main interest of this song lies consequently in its text, about getting through with a boy. The episodes could have been taken out of a teenager movie, but their humour prevents any first degree criticism.
The male character is even more deceptive than the ones in Toutes les nuits and Vélomoteur.
As the last track of the EP Pas la peine, Le garçon de New York was the last song ever recorded by the Calamités... until their tremendous comeback with Vélomoteur.
