DOWN AT LULU'S
Dogs - featuring Les Calamités
1984 - Produced by Jeff Eyrich - Length: 2'55"
Discography: Mon cœur bat encore

Dogs Down At Lulu's was a song by Ohio Express , an American bubblegum band produced by Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz.
Dogs, the leading French garage rock band, recorded it as the flip side of their single Mon cœur bat encore in 1984. Beside lead singer Dominique Laboubée (who played the harmonica on the Calamités' album) the group also consisted at that time of Antoine Massy-Perrier, later also known as Tony Truant, formerly belonging to the Snipers from Dijon. There were then numerous links between those three bands (Dogs, Snipers and Calamités).
Les Calamités recorded background vocals on that track, including spoken words during the musical bridge.

Lyrics/Music: Joey Levine, Kris Resnick

As interpreted by Dogs featuring Les Calamités

(Pa pa papa pa pa pa pa)
(PA PA PAPA PA PA PA PA - PA PA PAPA PA PA PA PA)
See the neon sign
Kids stand in line
Money clenched in hand
They wanna hear that band
Bass is thumping
EVERYBODY'S JUMPING
Drummer keeps beating
EVERYBODY'S MEETING down at LULU'S
Yes sir!
Down at LULU'S

(Pow pow powpow pow powpow powpow)
(Pa pa papa pa pa papa pa...)
Lights are red and blue
The music gets to you
Swept right off your feet
You can't escape that beat
Because . . .
Bass is thumping
EVERYBODY'S JUMPING
Drummer keeps beating
EVERYBODY'S MEETING down at LULU'S
Yes Sir!
Down at LULU'S

(Spoken with clinging glass sounds: Waouh ! - Comment ça s'appelle, ça ? ... Hey ! Hein ? ... - Tu connais celle de la pieuvre ?)

See what's dancing by
They gonna catch your eye
You may come alone
But that's not how you'll go home
Because . . .
Bass is thumping
EVERYBODY'S JUMPING
Drummer keeps beating
EVERYBODY'S MEETING down at LULU'S
Yes Sir!
Down at LULU'S
Down at LULU'S
Yes Sir!
Down at LULU's

(Pa papa pa) - (Pow pow powpow pow powpow powpow)
(Pa papa pa) - (Pow pow powpow pow powpow powpow)
(Pa papa pa...)
